This dragons head was a free model found on the internet at www.turbosquid.com

  Various 3D model file formats can be used: iges, stl, obj, 3ds etc.

The model is divided into its separate components in preparation for creating tool paths.

The components were then used to create machine tool cutter paths for the 3 Axis CNC Router.

The size of the finished object and the level of detail required will determine the final cost.

A high level of detail will require a fine cutting tool and therefore more machining time.

A large tool with a coarse cut can very quickly produce an object which is scaled in proportion and can provide an excellent starting point for sculpting by hand or further enhanced by your own imagination.

The components, cut from medium density expanded polystyrene foam, are trimmed and additional fine detail can be added by hand.

The components are assembled together and finished to the clients requirements.  This model measured approximately 600mm x 600mm x 600mm.
